SGD Fire Protection Ltd is pleased to announce the successful completion of a fire safety upgrade project at Brookfield Court, Burnage, Manchester, M19 2JB on behalf of Jackson Jackson and Sons Ltd. This crucial project commenced on 28th of October 2024 and was completed within 7 weeks, three weeks earlier than the planned 10-week schedule, reinforcing fire safety measures for residents.

The scope of work included the installation of FIREFLY® Apollo Lite 30:30 fire-resistant barriers to create a continuous compartmentation firewall in the loft space and strengthen all dividing flat walls. These measures enhance the building’s fire safety by restricting the spread of fire and smoke, offering up to 30 minutes of fire integrity and insulation.

Project Objectives & Execution

SGD Fire Protection Ltd deployed a skilled workforce and high-quality materials to ensure the effective installation of fire barriers in compliance with fire safety regulations. The key objectives achieved include:

Loft Space Compartmentation Firewall: Installation of a continuous 30-minute fire barrier along the ceiling line, ensuring no unsealed gaps or penetrations with all penetrating timbers and services wrapped to manufacturers guidelines.

Enhanced Flat Dividing Wall Protection: Reinforcement of walls between flats to prevent fire spread. Fire rated access panels installed in all dividing barrier installations if access was ever required for maintenance.
