SGD Fire Protection Ltd has reinforced its position as a socially responsible business after generating an impressive £1.680 million in social value during 2025, reflecting its continued commitment to supporting local communities alongside delivering high quality fire protection services.

The company’s approach to social value extends far beyond compliance and safety, focusing on long term community wellbeing through charitable partnerships, grassroots sports sponsorship, and direct local support that creates meaningful and lasting impact.

Key beneficiaries of SGD Fire Protection’s community investment include Centre63, a community hub in Knowsley supporting young people and families through youth engagement, education, training and social development programmes. Through financial contributions, volunteering and practical support, SGD has helped ensure the continuation of services that build confidence, skills and opportunity for local young people, playing a vital role in reducing social exclusion and supporting future employment prospects.

In addition, SGD Fire Protection actively supports physical and mental wellbeing through sports sponsorship, backing grassroots football teams and professional athletes including boxer Andrew Cain, British and Commonwealth Bantamweight Champion, darts champion Stephen Bunting and the Sevilla Under 12 Girls Team. These partnerships help fund equipment, coaching and participation opportunities, encouraging healthier lifestyles, discipline, teamwork and community pride.

Director Shaun Davidson said: “Fire protection is about keeping people safe, but we believe responsibility goes far beyond the buildings we protect. Generating £1.68 million in social value in 2025 is something we are incredibly proud of, but more importantly, it represents real people being supported, young people gaining opportunities, families receiving help when they need it most, and communities becoming stronger. Supporting our local area is not an add on to what we do, it is part of who we are as a business.”

Through its partnerships with charities, sports organisations and care providers, including recent donations to baby hospice Zoe’s Place, play-cafe Made to be MUM, a defibrillator for a local care home and another to a local golf course SGD Fire Protection continues to strengthen community resilience by helping build networks of support that address both immediate challenges and long term social outcomes.

Looking ahead to 2026, the company has committed to expanding its social value programme, with plans to increase charitable partnerships, grow its sports sponsorship portfolio, and introduce new employee volunteering initiatives. SGD Fire Protection also aims to collaborate more closely with local authorities and community organisations to identify areas where its resources and expertise can deliver the greatest benefit.

Office Manager Sarah Morton added: “Our team genuinely cares about the communities we work in, and that is reflected in the time, effort and resources we put into local projects. In 2026 we want to build even stronger relationships with community groups and charities, and give our staff more opportunities to get involved directly. We are proud of what has been achieved so far, but we are even more excited about what we can do next.”

At a time when businesses are increasingly expected to contribute to wider social wellbeing, SGD Fire Protection Ltd continues to demonstrate how commercial success and community responsibility can go hand in hand, helping to create safer, healthier and more connected communities across Knowsley and beyond.
